The highly-anticipated announcement has finally arrived! Actor Rajinikanth’s upcoming film, directed by TJ Gnanavel, has been officially titled “Vettaiyan”. The title was unveiled by Lyca Productions through a teaser video on Tuesday, coinciding with the superstar’s 73rd birthday.
The teaser opens with a captivating shot of Rajinikanth deeply engrossed in a book about the legendary freedom fighter, Subash Chandra Bose. To everyone’s delight, the renowned music composer, Anirudh Ravichander, introduces an electrifying new soundtrack that perfectly complements the iconic ‘Super Star Rajini’ introduction card. The teaser then unveils Rajinikanth, sporting a sleek clip-on sunglass and gripping a gun, as he delivers the impactful line, “When the hunt begins, the prey shall inevitably fall.”
Vettaiyan, formerly known as Thalaivar 170, features a talented ensemble cast consisting of Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh, and Dushara Vijayan. Additionally, GM Sundar, Rohini, Rao Ramesh, Ramesh Thilak, and Rakshan are also part of the cast.
SR Kathir is responsible for the cinematography in the film, while Philomin Raj handles the editing. The film is being produced by Subaskaran under his Lyca Productions banner. Additionally, Rajinikanth will make a cameo appearance in the film Lal Salaam, directed by his daughter Aishwarya Rajinikanth. Furthermore, for his 171st film, the veteran actor will collaborate with director Lokesh Kanagaraj, known for his work on the film Leo.
